Registration opens April 6th and closes June 15th for cheer and July 6th for football
Refunds for registration fees are available up until the first practice session. After this point, refunds are not provided except in cases of medical emergencies. Please contact us directly for refund requests.
Absolutely. Our program is built on the support of our community, and we are always looking for volunteers who want to help make the season a great experience for our athletes. Whether you’re interested in coaching, becoming a team parent or assisting on game days, there are many ways to get involved.
You don’t need prior experience, just a positive attitude and a willingness to support the kids and the program. If you’re interested in volunteering, please visit our VOLUNTEER WITH US page and we’ll help you find the right role to jump in and be part of the Hounds family.
Yes. Naugatuck Hounds Football and Cheer offers finanical aid options, including but not limited to grants from partnering organazations. We also accept Affirm, Klarna, and Afterpay for payment flexibility. If none of these options work for your family, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at Naugatuckhoundsreg@gmail.com to discuss additional support. Coaches have to submit a resume and then are interviewed and voted in by the board. All coaches and assistant coaches have to pass a background check and be CPR certified in order to eligible.
Football is practiced and played in all types of weather including rain, cold & hot weather etc. Cheerleaders cheer for the teams playing in these elements. For the safety of our participants, lightening will mandate a delay or cancelation.
If the time between seeing the flash of lightning and hearing the thunder is less than 30 seconds, take shelter. You are in a Strike Zone. If lightning is within five (5) miles (meaning we can see it), the game or practice will be suspended and shelter sought out.
Games and/or practices may resume 30 minutes after the last lightning strike within five (5) miles.
Athletes should bring water, appropriate athletic wear, and any required equipment specified in the registration details. Coaches will provide additional instructions if needed.
Yes, we organize fundraising events throughout the season to help offset costs for participants. Details about upcoming fundraisers will be shared via email, on our website and social media
Team schedules and events are communicated through the BAND and GameChanger apps. Registered participants will receive an invitation to join their team's channel. Updates are also posted on our website and social media.
