ALL-AMERICAN PROGRAM & SELECTION PROCESS

Each year, the most academically accomplished kids compete for Academic
All-American status. This process begins at the association level and up through each of the regions.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT ALLIANCE (AAA)

American Youth Football and Cheer invites all players and cheerleaders in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades to apply for the 2026 Academic Achievement Alliance (AAA) award. Applicants with a 96 percent or higher GPA from the previous academic year are eligible to be considered for the AAA awards.

All-American Program ELIGIBILITY

American Youth Football (AYF) recognizes student-athletes who excel in both academics and extracurricular activities outside of football or cheer through its Academic
All-American program. 
​​​American Youth Football and Cheer invites football and cheer participants to apply for the following 2025 Academic Achievement Awards.​
 

  • Platinum Award: Academic All-American (Above 100%) and extracurricular activities

  • Gold Award: Academic All-American (96% to 100%) and extracurricular activities

  • Silver Award: Academic All-Star (90% to 95.9%) and extracurricular activities

  • Bronze Award: Scholar Athlete (80% to 89.9%) and extracurricular activities

*(Grading Scale Conversion to Percentage on Attached Form)

Please also be sure to include extracurricular activities that do NOT include American Youth Football and Cheer.

Examples of extracurricular activities:

  • 1. Religious Leadership roles

  • 2. Charity Work

  • 3. Community clean-up projects

  • 4. Recycling Programs

  • 5. Youth Programs (i.e., Boys & Girls Club)

CRITERIA AND AWARDS:​

  • AAA recipients are chosen on the basis of ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, AND HONORS/AWARDS FROM THE PRIOR ACADEMIC YEAR (2025-2026).

  • One top football and one cheer participant per region will receive a $500.00 AAA scholarship after enrollment at a post-secondary institution (university, college, or trade school).

  • AYF/AYC will also award one $500.00 scholarship to the AYF/AYC Top Academic Achiever in honor of Mr. Carl Allegretti, a successful executive and community leader and 2022 Inductee into the National Football Foundation Leadership Hall of Fame.

  • All award recipients will receive a certificate to mark their achievement.

​Application process 

  • Applications and report cards must be submitted to your head coach or Erica Clements for verification

  • The deadline for submission is no later than September 15

AYF's academic focus

AYF believes that academics are a foundation for a promising future. They strive to develop scholars, thinkers, and visionaries. AYF also emphasizes the importance of community involvement and high moral standards.
